I am trying to use my Canon i560 for the first time in about 18 months. Have changed all the printer cartridges, installed it on my laptop (Windows 7), let it get all the updates when installing drivers, but still the lights flash green then amber… I have tried the reset procedure but when I get to step 5 it flashes green a couple of times then goes green/amber/green etc …. Help please
I have a i950 I cant get it past the blinking lights, I cleaned the printer heads and followed the reset for the counter above (which was helpful). I still am in the orange blinking lights. I hope Im not at the last of the line with my printer. Any additional advice? I just want the lights to stop so I can do the printer cleaning and realign everything. My kids use this printer for school.
I’ve been searching for a way to get rid of the “paper jam” message, and found this thread. I don’t know if it might apply to me or not. Is there a way to reset a Canon iX6520? I’ve had a wide-format iX6520 printer for only a year and a half. It has served me well until now. My computer is an iMac with 10.6.8. The other night, I was running one sheet of label paper through the printer when it jammed. I was able to slowly pull it out from the back, as instructed on the Canon website. I pushed “resume,” but the printer still said it was jammed, and the resume light kept flashing. I’ve tried resetting by unplugging the data and power cords, letting them sit, and then plugging them back in. I’ve also tried using canned air to try to get any dust or possible paper bits out of the printer, and cleaning the roller w/ a cotton swab as suggested. I e-mailed Canon Tech Support and they suggested cleaning the print head. Well, you can’t clean the print head because the printer thinks it’s jammed. I called Tech Support. He had me unplug and push the buttons. No luck, so he thinks the sensor may be damaged, and I need to buy a new one. At that point, I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver. It installed easily until I got to the part where it wanted e to do a test printing. Then I got the “jammed paper” message again. I can’t help but think that there might be a simple solution, and I really don’t want to buy another printer if I don’t have to. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
